Meet the Geeks & Gurus | Springboard Marketing

Our Family

works together, eats together, grows together

WE’RE VERY INTENTIONAL ABOUT WHO WE BRING INTO THE FOLD. WITH SO MUCH OF LIFE SPENT AROUND “CO-WORKERS”, WHY WOULDN’T WE BE?

We consider one another as family here at Springboard, and we treat each other that way too. It’s very important that we feel comfortable enough to participate in discussions and really have a voice. Yet, we understand that it’s the end result that matters and our discussions are more than just making ourselves heard.

It’s one thing to say that your office is like a family. It’s another thing to walk into the office and feel it.

We work together, yes. But at Springboard, we lean on each other for more than just work-related projects. Together we have cookouts and cook-offs, holiday parties, ugly sweater contests, Halloween parties, birthday celebrations, weddings, newborns and work anniversaries. We loan each other tools and cars, and we help each other move homes and assist with projects around the house. We offer a helping hand whenever and wherever possible because that’s what family does.

A CULTURE OF CHALLENGE & COLLABORATION

Our team takes pride in the strong work ethic of every single member. Individually we work hard to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner and collectively we challenge each other to do the same.

In fact, our team is fueled by challenge: the challenge to create something that will have true financial impact for our partners; the challenge to find and achieve the opportunities that exist in ecommerce marketing; the challenge to always be learning better ways to serve our partners; and the challenge to continually grow as individuals and as a team.

Hobbies: Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Cooking / Eating, Computer Gaming

Guilty Pleasure(s): Buffalo chicken wings & tater tots. Staying up late on the weekends watching off-beat television.

Random Fact(s): My nose has been broken twice. I built my first (non-class project) website in the year 2000. I’ve started three businesses (only one proved sustainable) and have been part of three corporate layoffs.

Favorite Food: Buffalo chicken wings, but Qdoba is fast approaching if it hasn’t already taken the lead.

Most Embarrassing Moment: While playing a competitive game of mini-hoop basketball in the office, I completed a between the legs reverse dunk to demoralize the opposing team. While lifting my knees to complete the dunk, I heard the sound of tearing fabric. Yes that’s right, I had ripped the crotch of my dress pants from front to back – while at work, in an office with nearly 100 people.

If You Became a Millionaire: I would invest 90%, take a 3 week vacation in Europe with my wife, and buy a new Ford F-150

"I like to shoot things! I'm a bit of a kid at heart and also enjoy the thrills of hunting. To me, having Nerf guns in the office serves a purpose. They offer a way to disrupt situations, in what I believe to be a positive manor. Sometimes when energy is low, or after a challenging group critique, our "toys" offer the ability to create positive energy flow. To be a bit silly, to be a bit childish, to reconnect in a youth like manner."

Hobbies: I love to cook and am always up for trying new recipes! My kids and I have a lot of dance parties. I also love reading, kickboxing, yoga, being outside in nature and spending time with family and friends.

Guilty Pleasure(s): Chocolate and ice cream...and watching Fixer Upper...ok, and looking for fun new recipes on Pinterest.

Random Fact(s): When I was a kid, my dream job was to be a back-up dancer for Paula Abdul. I also have no shame in the fact that "Ice, Ice Baby" is totally my jam. Pretty much my go-to song for karaoke.

Most Embarrassing Moment: I worked as a campus tour guide in college. During a freshman orientation weekend, when there are LOTS of visitors on campus and your tour group is usually 20-25 people, I was walking backwards, talking about the various dorms, and of course talking with my hands, and there was a person at the back of the group trying to get my attention. Just as I asked him what his question was, I backed right into a light pole- hard- and almost knocked the wind out of me. He responded with, "Just wanted to let you know that a pole was coming up." Several tour groups saw me back into the pole. It was a standing joke after that day that I needed to bring along a rearview mirror to hold up during my tours.

Favorite Famous Quote: I love looking up quotes for inspiration, encouragement and to challenge me. I don't really have a favorite, but here a few from Mother Teresa that have rattled around my heart and mind for awhile: “Never be so busy as not to think of others.” ― Mother Teresa, The Joy in Loving: A Guide to Daily Living “Go out into the world today and love the people you meet. Let your presence light new light in the hearts of people.” ― Mother Teresa "Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own home. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor . . . Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting." ― Mother Teresa

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."
― Dr. Seuss

Most Embarrassing Moment: Dressing up as a Cowboy for school spirit day in the third grade — on the wrong day. But, it taught me an important lesson: sometimes you just gotta "saddle up" when you know it's going to be a rough ride.

Favorite Famous Quote: “Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” — Mary Lou Cook

"I love capturing moments in ways that are so authentic, they transport you back to the memory. I like when an image gives you the chance to relive a moment of your life and goes beyond something you just frame."

If You Became a Millionaire: I would start a brewery. I would love to own a brewery specializing in good gluten free beers with ingredients sourced locally!

Favorite Famous Quote: "We enter the world alone and we leave it alone. And everything that happens in between, we owe it to ourselves to find a little company. We need help. We need support. Otherwise, we’re in it by ourselves. Strangers. Cut off from each other, and we forget just how connected we all are. So instead, we choose love, we choose life, and for a moment, we feel just a little bit less alone."

Superhero Power: I’d like to fly. Being able to fly would be awesome.
